Club Update Jan 2021

HALL GREEN, 21A DOVERIDGE RD,  B28 0LS

JANUARY  2021

Following a very difficult year, the committee would like to thank all those members and staff who supported the club during some extremely challenging conditions.

With the receipt of the substantial 2020 business support grant the club’s finances are sound. further smaller grants are in the pipeline

The opportunity was also taken to avail ourselves of the back-up of the government supported “bounce back loan”. This is an interest free loan (if needed) repayable in May 2021.

Actions have been taken to reduce costs wherever possible, and to date savings have been, or will be made in a number of areas: –

  • Gas supplies, for the delivery of draught beers
  • Waste and glass collection
  • Ladies toilets   hygiene services
  • Sage payroll systems
  • Credit card services.

Utility usage is monitored and controlled, with heating throughout the club for limited times each day, to keep frost and damp at bay.

Bar stocks have been reduced and where possible credits or allowances obtained for “lost” draught beers.

The committee have now reviewed arrangements for the collection of annual subscriptions, under the current COVID restrictions we will not be able to collect subscriptions in the normal manner. it is now planned that collections will take place when the club can re-open, more on this topic later.

Staff have all been retained and are currently on furlough, being paid 80% of their average weekly hours, this cost being recouped via the job retention scheme.

Once again, our thanks for your support.

National Lockdown

The club is now closed for the duration of the national lockdown, we hope this will be the originally planned 4 weeks and look forward to welcoming you back on the 2nd of December!
